I am Elena Rossi, born in Florence on 7 January 1996. I earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Forest Sciences at the University of Florence.
My Master’s thesis, entitled “Comparative assessment of Pinus pinaster vitality after wildfire and prescribed burning”, supervised by Prof. Enrico Marchi, focused on latent mortality in Pinus pinaster after wildfire and prescribed burning, comparing visual crown damage assessment and glucose measurements using a medical glucometer.
My PhD research focuses on wildfire science and management in the context of climate change. It explores spatial decision-support approaches based on maps and quantitative indicators to support forest planning, prevention strategies and decision-making, as well as the understanding and acceptability of preventive interventions.
