Profile

I graduated at the University of Florence where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry and Environmental Science and a Master’s degree (110/110L) in Science and technology of forestry systems, curriculum Forestry management.  During the Bachelor, I did an internship in the soil lab at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest Snow and Landscape Research (WSL), while during the Master I worked in the Microbiology department of the University of Innsbruck.

My current interests span from ecohydrology to tree physiology, and tree hydraulic.

Research interests and PhD project

The bulk of my PhD project is the understanding of the ecohydrological processes occurring in the critical zone and the role of topography in driving water uptake by different forest species. To aim this, we settled two study sites: one in Weierbach catchment in Luxembourg and one in Re della Pietra catchment (FI) in Italy.
